Alex and I are battling on. This really is a nasty little virus. We both have chest infections and Alex has been signed off work until at least next Thursday. Trouble is, I have no one to cover my PhD while I'm ill so I have to soldier on. So far that has meant doing no work at all! But I must do some tomorrow. Feel awful though.
We watched a programme about a company selling acres of land on the moon. Apparently a guy in the US laid claim to the moon a few years ago and is selling it off. One acre of the moon will cost you about £20. As a novelty item, it might be a fun present but the programme focused on the people buying the "land". Most didn't see it as a novelty, but genuinely believed that they owned part of it and one day could lay claim to their investment. Just how stupid can some people be?! The man in charge of the UK sales has made in excess of £5million from the stupid British public. Here is my general rule of business. You can't sell something that you don't own! On second thoughts, I lay claim to Mars. Anyone want a slice? ( Actually someone else has thought of that already...check out http://www.moonestates.com/ if you want an acre)
On another loony note, I was gobsmacked to read of that idiotic woman who has been banned from driving for 7 days for driving too slowly on the M32. She was driving at 10mph, repeatedly braking and straddling the hard shoulder. When questioned she said she had a fear of driving and "didn't do fast". Now I hate speeding drivers as much as the next person but sometimes driving slowly - especially this slowly and erratically is lethal. We've all seen these unconfident drivers swerving all over dual carriageways. If you have a fear of driving, you shouldn't be on the bloody roads! 7 day ban? How about a life ban?! (Or at least some driving lessons)
